Matera, Italy - San Vito al Lombardo

This church is built into the rocks of Matera and is from the 13th century. While the facade is carved stone the interior is essentially carved out of the rocks. There are many of these churches and they are called "Rock Churches" (Chiesa rupestre) by the locals.
